Amber

You have cluttered your mind, slept on your problems

Yet something at the back of your head nags you

You look back to that day of impending doom

How you ignored everyone you held true.

Why were you bleeding beyond belief?

Why were you hurting, hiding?

You now have your answers- comfortable yet distinctive.

You should have known- should have seen it coming.

How many times do you have to hurt

To finally realize the same things again?

How many times do you have to get caught in the same hurricane

Till the answer is you, you needn’t reassert?

All this time you kept waiting for someone to save you

While love after love after love you got caught

Till you realized that you were brave too

And needn’t get shot down yet again.

And now you’re comfortable in your own skin

And thankful to those friends who let you heal for yourself

They who let you see the light

Shining bright inside of you.

Unknown to you.

Because it’s NaPoWriMo, another Poetry Challenge based on the theme colour.
The Colour Challenge: A week of original poetry based on seven colours.

(I’m extending the challenge by trying to tell a story through the seven colours. Don’t know if it’ll work out though.:P)

About TheBlackWallflower

I'm just your average unique person. I love to read and write (no surprises there, eh?) and think a lot. I adore Rowling and think Harry Potter should be a religion. I also hate pink. I love fluff generally because it makes me feel intelligent and I love poetry because it makes me feel different. (yes, references.) I'm married to Sirius Black. So I sign myself as The Bitch alarmingly often. Oh, and I love Mr. Darcy. And Jo Longo. And Chandler Bing. And Sherlock. (Yes, I'm a fantard.) And in case you want to drop in a good, or a critical word, feel free to email me: theblackwallflower@gmail.com OR, follow me on Twitter: @WallflowerBlack Enough with the babble. OkBye.
