Your footsteps fall on the muddy ground
As you walk alone, through the wet sidewalk
Thinking of all your friends you wish to bring here
So they are a part of your story

Till you remember how you don’t talk anymore
And a pang of guilt washes over you
Even though you weren’t at fault really
But like always they made you believe otherwise

Flashback to the time when you all laughed at each other
For some sad twist of fate that happened to one of them
And you laugh at how funny it was then
And how hurtful it is now

And now you are here all alone
Bleeding, healing, wondering
Waiting for the clouds to part
And that ray of sun to come through

And you walk through the muddy streets
Where you had come to learn from other’s misery
But you find yourself alone day after day
Even in agony, you find yourself selfish.

Because it’s NaPoWriMo, another Poetry Challenge based on the theme colour.
The Colour Challenge: A week of original poetry based on seven colours.

(I’m extending the challenge by trying to tell a story through the seven colours. Don’t know if it’ll work out though.:P)

About TheBlackWallflower

I'm just your average unique person. I love to read and write (no surprises there, eh?) and think a lot. I adore Rowling and think Harry Potter should be a religion. I also hate pink. I love fluff generally because it makes me feel intelligent and I love poetry because it makes me feel different. (yes, references.) I'm married to Sirius Black. So I sign myself as The Bitch alarmingly often. Oh, and I love Mr. Darcy. And Jo Longo. And Chandler Bing. And Sherlock. (Yes, I'm a fantard.) And in case you want to drop in a good, or a critical word, feel free to email me: OR, follow me on Twitter: @WallflowerBlack Enough with the babble. OkBye. View all posts by TheBlackWallflower
